I thus created an instruction booklet through infographics and manuals of screen printing. Aimed at people who are new to screen printing, the booklet contains background information about screen printing, basic steps and materials required to start screen printing. The instruction will allow the audience to be confident with the whole process of screen printing.
I focused on creating this manual to be friendly and easily approachable so that anyone can start screen printing without panicking throughout the whole process. The first method was creating an illustrative portrayal of the steps. I created a simple character named Screenie, a smiley paper friend, who guides the audience. The adorable appearance of Screenie and the illustrations lower the barrier of starting screen printing. The second method was using a small activity set to engage the audience in the project. By physically engaging the audience, they can understand the process better than imagining.
