Storybook In response to the topic of “Survival”, I created an illustrated storybook based on my personal experience of living in foreign countries. This project aims for the audience to question their own circumstances on whether they would like to blend in or stick out within a new culture, and inspire them to find their personal cultural identity.

The illustrated storybook titled “Would You be a Carrot in Beef Stew or Salad?” is narrated from the perspective of the Carrot. In the book, he visits two towns and is not happy with either of them. He gets confused and disappointed that he is not sure where he belongs. He soon realises that the first two options, blending in or sticking out, are not the only ones, and goes on a journey to find a town that suits him the best.
